Who Is Tory Lenny?
My name is Victoria “Lenny” Prickett and this is my story (the longer version).
My Background.
They say that you can tell a lot about a person based on where they come from. Where I come from, in our small shore community, hard work and dedication is valued.
Growing up in South Jersey as one of six siblings, I was surrounded by constant energy, competition, and teamwork—much like the sports I’ve grown to love and capture. With four sisters and one brother, our family was always bustling with activity, and sports played a central role in bringing us together. From backyard games to cheering for our favorite teams, sports became a shared language that connected us and taught us the values of collaboration, resilience, and passion.
The vibrant culture of Philadelphia sports was a constant backdrop in my childhood, influencing both my love for storytelling and my drive to document unforgettable moments. My father’s involvement in the golf community introduced me to the intricacies of the game and the connections it fosters, while my grandfather’s tales of working in baseball gave me a glimpse into the rich history and impact of athletics. These influences instilled in me an appreciation for the magic of sports and the way they unite people.
My experiences with my siblings taught me to find beauty in chaos, something that translates into my approach to photography. Whether it’s capturing the joy of a victory, the determination in an athlete’s eyes, or the camaraderie among teammates, I aim to preserve the raw emotion and energy that make sports so special. Inspired by my family, my community, and my background in sports communication and media, I’m committed to sharing the stories that unfold on and off the field.
My Journey.
I graduated high school in 2020, a year defined by the challenges of the pandemic. While finishing school during such uncertain times wasn’t easy, looking back, I can say my high school experience was filled with meaningful moments. Getting involved in both sports and my school’s broadcasting and theater department opened my eyes to the possibilities that lay ahead, sparking my interest in storytelling and media.
After graduation, I decided to take a gap year—a decision shaped by the uncertainty of the pandemic and a personal loss that deeply affected me. Losing my grandmother during such a difficult time left me feeling unsure of my next steps. With encouragement from family and friends, I eventually took the leap and began my college journey at Atlantic Cape Community College. While I started reluctantly, it quickly became a pivotal chapter in both my academic and personal growth.
At ACCC, I pursued an Associate’s degree in Communications and immersed myself in campus life. Serving as the president of the Film/Media Club was a transformative experience, as it reignited my creative passions and introduced me to the world of photography. During my second-to-last semester, I sought out new opportunities and secured a position as a sports photographer and media intern for the college’s athletics program. This role has allowed me to combine my love for sports and storytelling, capturing dynamic moments from game days and practices while highlighting the dedication of our small but passionate athletics community.
I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences I gained at ACCC. This journey has not only shaped my skills as a photographer but has also solidified my commitment to telling authentic stories through sports media.

Seeking a change of scenery and an opportunity to challenge myself, I applied to the Disney College Program—and it turned out to be one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. Moving 1,000 miles away from home wasn’t easy, but it was a leap of faith that allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. During my internship, I was part of the merchandising team in Hollywood Studios’ Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, where I had the incredible opportunity to bring Disney magic to life for thousands of guests every day.
Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, I managed guest experiences for an average of 24,000 visitors daily. This role sharpened my adaptability, problem-solving skills, and ability to learn quickly under pressure. Whether it was helping guests find the perfect souvenir, creating memorable moments, or ensuring operations ran smoothly, I took pride in contributing to the immersive world that Disney is known for.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my time at Galaxy’s Edge was the chance to be part of a "living production" every single day. This experience gave me firsthand insight into guest engagement, teamwork, and the impact of storytelling on a grand scale. The Walt Disney Company’s dedication to delivering exceptional experiences reinforced how crucial media and storytelling are in connecting with audiences—a value I carry with me in my own work.
My time in the Disney College Program not only expanded my professional skill set but also inspired me to bring that same level of creativity, passion, and attention to detail into every project I take on.
The Next Chapter: Penn State Bound!
After earning my associate’s degree in Communications from Atlantic Cape Community College, I’m excited to take the next big step in my journey. I’m thrilled to announce that I have chosen Penn State as my next home to continue my education!
At Penn State, I’ll be pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications with a focus on sports media—an opportunity that aligns perfectly with my passion for storytelling and my goal of amplifying women’s voices in the sports industry. The world of sports remains a predominantly male-dominated space, but I’m determined to be part of the change, both behind the camera and beyond.
My journey hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has only fueled my determination. I want to inspire other young women to step confidently into spaces where they might not always feel they belong. More women deserve to be on the field, behind the lens, and at the table in sports.
This next chapter at Penn State is about growth, new experiences, and taking my skills to the next level. I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead—stay tuned for more as I embark on this adventure!
